Raisen Filled Cookies


Time: until they get lightly brown on top Temperature 350 ° F.

Raisin Filled Cookies

2cups sugar 1 teaspoon soda, stir into milk 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup lard ( Crisco) 2 eggs pinch of salt
1 cup milk (sour or buttermilk) 2 teaspoons baking powder flour to roll out stiffness

Raisin Filling

1 box raisins 1 cup sugar
water to cover pinch salt

Bring to a boil & add mixture of :

1 egg 1 tablespoon flour or slightly more

Cool and add vanilla to taste

Roll out dough and cut into round discs(the top of a drinking glass works well for this).
Put raisin filling on a peice of cut dough and top with another piece, enclosing the filling.
Bake in oven until they look done.
